  6. When your account becomes active, a screen will pop up with your ogo’s text messaging number. Jot it down and pass it to your friends so they can text you.
Signing in

You’re going to need an identity to IM or e-mail. If you already have one, great. If not, just go to aol, msn or yahoo! on your computer and get one. Another wizard will walk you through the process.

  1. Pick a service – ICQ, MSN or Yahoo!
  2. If you picked msn, there are more legal terms for you to agree to.
  3. Set up your im.
  4. Set up your e-mail.
  5. Set auto-login preferences.
Using your Ogo

A brief look at how to work your ogo, key by key

Home: Hit this key to pick how to communicate, change your online status, get support, change settings, work your address book, etc. Just don’t put your feet on the couch.

Ogo: See who’s im-ing, texting or e-mailing you. Bounce between all three.

Mail: Your e-mail and text messages all in one place. If you want, go ahead and sort them by account.

Chat: The IM spot. Check out all your buddies. Choose a buddy and hit enter if you want to chat. You can also add buddies here. Or delete them if they’ve been bad.

Compose: Write an e-mail or text here.

Options: Takes you to the action menu for the screen you’re on. Read or delete messages. Add buddies or delete buddies.

Go back: Every press of this button is a step closer to home.

What is the difference between mailbox name, e-mail address, user name, and display name in e-mail settings?

Mailbox name: This is what you call this account. For example, Home e-mail, My Comcast Account, or whatever will help you remember which e-mail account it is.

E-mail address: The e-mail address for the account.

User name: The user name you use to log in. It may be your e-mail address or it may be the portion of the address before the @ sign.

Display name: This will be the name that appears when you send other people e-mail. You may want to use your full name, your first name, a nickname, or whatever. Just avoid display names that may be confused with spam.
